They offer an information and referral Helpline which can be reached at (800) 931-2237, Monday through Thursday 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. ET & Friday 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. ET, for treatment options, resources and support. 

American Residential Treatment Association

A professional association of 30 member facilities that provide fee-based, residential care to adults with mental illness. The organization’s website offers information on locating and selecting a residential treatment facility and a “Find a Residential Mental Health Facility” locator that is searchable by program type and location. (Please note that the facilities listed in the directory may be high cost).

Getting a court order for involuntary hospitalization of an adult with mental illness is complex and varies from state to state.
